Taper's notes: 'I should thank Ironchef for producing an excellent recording in Indianapolis (I had tentative plans to go, but had to go to West Texas that weekend). I will also thank ballsdeep for his stories of just taping on a whim, for they encouraged me to do just that on this effort. I bought a ticket around 4 P.M. (for $12.66 total) and started the drive shortly after (I ended up running into construction just west of Columbia, MO. Thanks to this, I missed Lamb of God. Something always seems to happen concerning my efforts to tape them, even though I saw them open for Metallica in 2009). Even though I generally like Metallica more, the energy in the music at this show at least competed with them if not bested (my vote is the latter). I separated the chatter of Dave Mustaine because it took a while and I did not like people doing all that chatting when he was pouring his guts out about being closer to life and death than most people in that audience have probably even been near. Soundwise, I think this is a bit more distant and ill-resolved than what Ironchef captured, but I am grateful for it (maybe I will try out some mics, but I am a bit nervous about that). Finally, I was surprised at just how short this turned about to be (should be around 56 minutes total).'
I had to re-'master' the whole thing - boosted sound, split and renamed tracks. The recording sadly is indeed too distant, I personally cannot make out almost anything Dave was saying. Anyways thanks to the taper for the effort, it's better this than nothing, but i'm sure he will do better tapes in future.
